Welcome to the CC LiveContent project!

LiveContent is......

Contribute!

LiveContent is made possible through the community of creators, content curators, and developers. Creative Commons encourages others to provide ideas, feedback, comments and connections to other projects on this wiki page. There are many ways to contribute:

  1. Sign up for an account on this wiki and begin adding to the community - your knowledge, ideas and contributions are welcome
  2. IRC - Channel #CC at http://irc.freenode.net - general chatter from CC-ers, affiliates, guests - http://wiki.creativecommons.org/IRC
  3. cc-devel listserv - Creative Commons developers email list - http://wiki.creativecommons.org/Mailing_Lists
LiveMedia Content Directories Content APIs

LiveContent can be delivered in a variety of ways. The first incarnation of LiveContent will deliver content as a LiveCD. LiveCDs are equivalent to what is called a LiveDistro. LiveCDs have traditionally been a vehicle to test an operating system or applications live. Operating systems and/or applications are directly booted from a CD or other type of media without needing to install the actual software on a machine.

Creative Commons doesn't maintain a list of CC-licensed media, but we encourage the community of organizations and services with CC-powered projects to add themselves to the Content Directories listings. Share your project and check out the others who are using CC too!

LiveContent aims for better standards and API specifications so that others can manipulate CC content feeds better. LiveContent 2.0 demonstrates the autocuration process, made possible by well documented API from orgs like Flickr. Check it out here and help us standardize. You can have your content featured on a LiveContent disc too!
