FADE IN:

EXT. CASA GRANDIOSO - ESTABLISHING - SUNSET

Casa Grandioso is a retirement and care facility on Walnut Avenue in a small city in the Central Valley of California.

INT. CASA GRANDIOSO - SUNSET

ADAMSON, 78, rouses TWILLIE, 80, and THREADGILL, 82, from their rooms. Ethnicities of the three vary. Adamson ignores the curiosity of other residents.

EXT. CASA GRANDIOSO - SUNSET

DR. HOLM, 45, ENTERS court from the open front door of Casa Grandioso, gets into his car, drives to street exit grill that automatically but slowly opens.

EXT. CASA GRANDIOSO - SIMULTANEOUSLY

Hearse arrives on Walnut Avenue and draws up to front entrance grill that automatically but slowly opens.

EXT. CASA GRANDIOSO - SUNSET

Dr. Holm sees hearse arrive. In passing, he waves at DRIVER, who flashes lights in salute.

EXT. CASA GRANDIOSO - SUNSET

POV from behind Girl.

GIRL, 7, rests on skateboard on sidewalk across Walnut Avenue to watch action in front of Casa Grandioso.
