I think that this salon should focus on not costing anything to do and should be a free event. If this means finding another venue, then this should happen. The good thing about the Salon in San Francisco is that it costs us nothing, has drinks for purchase and is close for us! Honestly, this makes it easy for the event to be sustainable. Think about how this event will take its toll 6 months from now with an cost of $200/month. THat is $1200 for six months not to mention having to then actually purchase drinks, etc. Jon Phillips 23:36, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

can't really do thursdays... or fridays in the fall as i'm teaching evenings.  also thursdays are the day when http://www.isoc-ny.org/  meets.  wednesdays are generally much more free, also venue's tend to like m-w type things, because th-sun are money days.  it is possible that i could get the big manhattan lecture hall at pratt 14th street between 6th and 7th for one or two of these per semester. I agree with free.  I don't know about drinks.  --Buridan 11:57, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
