DanceMe is a cross-media participatory project about Performing Arts and Web 2.0.

It's involving 12 participants (6 performers, 2 musicians, 2 writers, 2 videoartists), who are working at an interdisciplinary creative lab. The project is involving the internet community as well, through a web platform that is a key factor of the project itself.

Performers are going to be set in an art-in-residence program, where they will be free to create, one by one, solo performances. They will cooperate with musicians, videoartists and writers.

Every input to the creative process (music, video, choreography or text) is being posted on line and given a CC BY-SA license, in order to spread their work as much as possible.

Overview

DanceMe is a cross-media participatory project about Performing Arts and Web 2.0. It's involving 12 participants (6 performers, 2 musicians, 2 writers, 2 videoartists), who are working at an interdisciplinary creative lab. The project is involving the internet community as well, through a web platform that is a key factor of the project itself.

Performers are going to be set in an art-in-residence program, where they will be free to create, one by one, solo performances. They will cooperate with musicians, videoartists and writers.

DanceMe is promoted by Perypezye Urbane and supported by Fondazione Cariplo and Comune di Milano. In the next months we are going to create a European partnership in order to apply to European Funds.

DanceMe takes place in the Internet, but is mainly based in Italy, since many of its participants come from different Italian regions (two of them come from Poland and England).

License Usage

We adopted a CC BY-SA 3.0 unported license.

Every input to the creative process (music, video, choreography or text) is being posted on line and given a CC BY-SA license, in order to spread their work as much as possible. We still don't have statystics of the usage of the works.

Motivations

We chose the Creative Commons licenses because they are a valid response to the problem of young artists to let themselves and teir work known by a broader and international public.
