Examples
Requirements
- all materials should be available both online and as a downloadable resource
- at least 3-5 volunteers must sign on to each toolkit project before HQ will support it
- toolkits are intended for use worldwide, so should focus on information/issues for the domain at a high level without references to local law or particular interpretations of copyright law.
Template
- 2 page handout explaining:
- Why use CC? - Provide a short list of 2-3 points tailored to the domain in question, outlining the benefits of CC and why it is relevant to this particular topic/user
- How does CC work? - Provide a short explanation (eg half a page) of how the CC/the CC licenses work, tailored to this specific domain/topic/user
- Who is using CC? 2-3 summaries of case studies of CC license use in this domain, preferably with links to longer summaries
- Things to Think About - Highlighting issues to be aware of for this domain/community
- an image, illustrating or relevant to CC usage in the domain

- Things to know before using a CC license (non-revocable, no reps & warranties, etc.) and how to choose what CC license to apply
- How to apply the CC license
- Best practices for marking/attribution (appropriate for domain)
- FAQ - Frequently asked questions specific to domain, and responding to myths/misconceptions/issues (from above) for that domain
- Links to longer external materials, for example,:
- Case Studies for the domain, in depth
- Media
- Slides/how
- Videos
- Articles
- Generic fact sheets available where needed eg attribution
- Advocacy documents
- Courses/design challenges around learning about CC/CC license use in that domain
- Any other
