Overview
Nowadays Tribuna is a monthly free of charge magazine created by students and those who encourage critical reflection on society and student life. Tribuna magazine was firstly founded by the League of Socialist Youth of Yugoslavia in 1951, later and until today the publisher remained the Student Organisation of the University of Ljubljana (ŠOU Ljubljana). Banned and censored throughout its turbulent history, the magazine revitalised the provocative charm of the legendary years and in the recent years enhanced online open access publishing.
The magazine is published in the tribunal typeface, the in-house typeface developed by former creative editor Aljaž Vindiš who won the Brumen Grand Prix at the Biennal of Slovene Visual Communications in 2011.
