Pratham Books, a non-profit children's book publishing house in India, has begun using CC licenses to further distribution, translation and reuse of its works.

Overview

We have been working with the Nepal wing of the One Laptop Per Child project and the Open Learning Exchange, Nepal had written to us asking if we could provide content for their project to use on their low cost laptops being distributed for children's use, in their eBook library and to translated into Neplai for local use.

Motivations

To put a book in every child's hand and to bring about a reading revolution we believe that there is a net increase in the available reading content that needs to be effected and we are using CC licenses for this purpose.
