The public discussion is an open forum where everyone – from lawyers to active license users, from linguists to translators — is invited to contribute.

The BY-NC-SA 3.0 license draft adapted to Chinese law is ready for public discussion. The Chinese and English versions of the BY-NC-SA license are available, as is a summary of the substantial changes proposed by the legal team to port the licenses to China Mainland copyright law.

If you have comments about the license draft, whether in regards to legal, linguistic or usability issues, please feel welcome to use the wiki's discussion page or the CC China Mainland mailing list to share your thoughts.

Comments should be submitted as soon as possible to allow enough time for review.

Thanks to the ongoing efforts of Project Lead Chunyan Wang with the support of Renmin University and the CC China Mainland team.

Roadmap

Jurisdiction: Creative Commons China Mainland

In the year of 2011, the project team of Creative Commons China Mainland will continue its efforts in capacity building and promotional activities. A CC & OER Program will also be a key task of the new year.

I. Improving Operational Framework of the Project Team

To recruit new team members for the project.

A few current team members will be temporary unavailable in 2011, and the team will keep its diversity by recruiting new members with a diverse and multi-disciplinary background and mutually complementary skills.

To improve the workflow, operational framework and sustainable development of the project team.

AS IS:

We have formally established the procedures for various activities, and are working on a long-term development plan.

TO BE:

An advisory board meeting and other consulting events will be conducted to identify the best way for a sustainable long-term development, and possible solutions shall be experimented.

To improve the workflow and management of CC Clinic Program.

AS IS:

In 2010, CC Clinic Program has enrolled more than 100 registered volunteers from universities and online communities, who would be getting involved in CC-related events.

TO BE:

An efficient mechanism of organizing and communicating with volunteers will be designed and implemented. A workflow of volunteers' operations will be addressed and established. The objective is not only to enhance the efficiency and management, but also to enhance the inter-communication in between volunteers.

II. Regular Promotional Activities

Online Activities

OER in Major Web Portals :

AS IS:

We have built collaboration with major OER communities in China and have organized salons on topic of OER and CC. As an expert appointed by UNESCO, the project lead, working together with a Professor from Peking University and Fei Yang from CC China Mainland, conducted an analytical survey report on Open Educational Resources in the People's Republic of China: State-of-the-Art, Challenges and Prospects for Development which has been submitted to IITE of UNESCO in Jan. 2011.

In the year of 2010, Netease (163.com) launched an Open Course Channel (http://v.163.com/open), providing free online video courses to the public. It was followed by Sina.com with another Open Course website (http://edu.sina.com.cn/video/open/index.shtml) free of charge.

TO BE:

The project team will continue working closely with those major web portals providing consulting on CC licenses and ensuring that Creative Commons will be the solution and the infrastructure for those projects. We will continue to help enhance the communication between local OER communities and international OER initiatives based on the collaboration with IITE.

Newsletter:

AS IS:
