This is generally the procedure for setting up a contest physically prior to the infrastructure which is already in place to host the contest:

1. Come up with the contest concept

2. Approach the people who are collaborating with Creative Commons on the contest

3. Come to an agreement with both parties

4. Select judges for the contest

5. Get the media files from the responsible party and make sure the rights are cleared

6. Figure out the prizes

7. Secure the prizes

8. Draft the terms (legal)

9. Post the files

10. Build the web infrastructures

11. Test the site

12. Make press release for the contest (and post on this wiki)

13. Get press release reviewed

14. Make announcement

15. Maintain the contest and field questions until done
