Matar al Gato 2.0: Ekpyrotica was the first of a series of sound-art/multimedia-art performances by Panz4 Troupé, the collaborative art space between Sol Rezza (argentinean sound artist, sound designer and Sound Jockey) and Daniel Iván (mexican video artist, multimedia artist and photographer). This version was held as a virtual performance streamed live from artist's studio on April 27th 2011.

The Ekpyrotica series deal with the idea of Ekpyrosis, proposed by the Stoic philosophers. They believed the universe is repeated after every "great year", and that this repetition is preceeded by the universe's destruction via a "conflagration".

On this version of Ekpyrotica, the artist's deal with the implication of this idea on three core concepts: time, emptyness and silence. How do our senses -as the tools for our whole world's experience- deal with this three experiences in an universe conformed by infinite repetitions? Is every repetition a variation by itself, as long as it is condemned to happen on space, on the vibrating space of time? Is the way of combining different repetitions the formula to achieve "difference"?
