Below you will find links to query forms we guessed the research community might be interested in. All of our data is open and available to SMW-based queries (and even exportable to formats like RDF and CSV).

Jurisdiction data

  • Query jurisdictions for fields like affiliate, porting status, and URLs.

3.0 License porting data

The Full License Set

This database contains only the BY-NC-SA licenses, but you can still use the database to research any of the six licenses in the CC License Suit.

All the parts of the six Creative Commons licenses are contained within the BY-NC-SA license. Follow the instructions below to research different licenses using the BY-NC-SA licenses in the database.

BY
When using BY-NC-SA to research the BY license:

  • Ignore the non-commercial provisions that prohibit releasing your work for commercial purposes(Section 4(c) in the Unported).
  • Ignore the share-alike provisions that require licensing your own work under certain licenses (Section 4(d) in the Unported).

BY-SA
When using BY-NC-SA to research the BY-SA license:

  • Ignore the noncommercial provisions that prohibit releasing your work for commercial purposes (Section 4(c) in the Unported).
  • Ignore the non-commercial provisions that prohibit releasing your work for commercial purposes(Section 4(c) in the Unported).
  • Compatible licenses for the purpose of BY-SA are different than those for BY-NC-SA licenses. Compatible licenses for BY-SA are "Creative Commons compatible licenses."

BY-ND
When using BY-NC-SA to research the BY-ND license:

  • Ignore the provisions allowing derivative works in the license grant (Section 3(b) and 3(d) in the Unported).
  • Ignore the entire section that discusses licensing requirements for derivative works (Section 4(b) in the Unported).
  • Ignore any other references to adaptations or derivative works in the license.
  • Ignore the non-commercial provisions that prohibit releasing your work for commercial purposes(Section 4(c) in the Unported).

BY-NC
When using BY-NC-SA to research the BY-NC license:

  • Ignore the share-alike provisions that require licensing your own work under certain licenses (Section 4(d) in the Unported).

BY-NC-ND
When using BY-NC-SA to research the BY-NC-ND license:

  • Ignore the provisions allowing derivative works in the license grant (Section 3(b) and 3(d) in the Unported).
  • Ignore the entire section that discusses licensing requirements for derivative works (Section 4(b) in the Unported).
  • Ignore any other references to adaptations or derivative works in the license.
