We would like to see CC flourish and grow around the world. There are a number of ways to get involved, from hosting a salon, translation, or starting a new jurisdiction project.

We are still looking for experts and passionate people from all around the world to get involved. The following overview is designed to help you understand what building a jurisdiction team would entail:


The CC license porting process

Affiliate Institution and Legal and/or Public Project Leads are chosen

Project Leads sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Creative Commons

Internal administration and Timeline

Legal Project Lead produces a first draft

CC reviews first draft

Public discussion

Legal Project Lead produces second draft

CC reviews second draft

Project leads finalize licenses and arrange technical requirements

Launch of the national version of the licenses
