Join Creative Commons UK and The Media Institute for a celebration of Creative Commons 10th Anniversary! This December is Creative Commons' 10th Anniversary, and Creative Commons UK will be celebrating in a London-based event. All are welcome, but make sure to register at http://cc10uk.eventbrite.com/ so we can plan for numbers.

Creative Commons develops, supports and stewards legal and technical infrastructure that maximises digital creativity, sharing and innovation. Creative Commons licenses are used around the world, growing in adoption and support each year. This CCUK event will feature the following respected speakers, followed by refreshments.

Speakers' bios: Benjamin White is the Head of Intellectual Property at the British Library. He has a background in publishing having worked for Pearson Education internationally, as well as for Ordnance Survey. He is active in the Intellectual Property field within the UK having sat on a number of bodies including the BBC's Creative Archive Advisory Board, the UK Government's Creative Economy Programme (Competition and Intellectual Property), i2010 Digital Libraries Programme, CBI Intellectual Property Board as well as the Institute of Public Policy Research's Advisory Board on Intellectual Property and the Public Sphere. He currently chairs the copyright group of the Council for European National Librarians; he sits on the UK Intellectual Property Office’s Copyright Research Expert Advisory Group and is a member of the advisory panel for the Digital Copyright Exchange Feasibility Study. Spencer Hyman is Founder and Chief Executive ArtFinder. ArtFinder.com is a pioneering art discovery service, working with leading galleries, museums and artists to bring a vast choice of limited edition prints and contemporary artworks to market. Since the 1990s, Mr. Hyman has been involved in the development of the European Internet industry as an entrepreneur, investor, and executive. From 2005 to 2009, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Last.fm with responsibilities including advertising, business development, ecommerce, internationalization, HR, labels negotiation plus content, and rights management. He has held leading international roles at Copan, Amazon, Hasbro and Booz Allen Hamilton, and has been an advisor to several successful companies including Plink, LinkedIn, EPOS, Mendeley and Yoyo Games.
