The summit themes and program will be divided to four parts.

1) Law and policy Experiences of Creative Commons litigation. What are the special Nordic circumstances that we have to take into account? The session discusses the legal norms and open content licensing in Scandinavia.

2) Business How can you do business while giving away your products for free? The session presents Scandinavian case studies of innovative business and production models that are enabled by open content licensing.

  • Frances Pinter, how publishing companies are using Creative Commons

Ideas:

  • Jaakko Kuivalainen, Taloussanomat (?) Europe's fourth largest publisher's IT and economics magazines decided to publish their online magazines' articles with CC licenses. Jaakko had a big role in that decision.

3) Culture What kind of new possibilities open content enables for artists?

4) Access to archives

Ideas:

  • Naomi Korn (or Charles Oppenheim) on IP and copyright challenges in Museums, Libraries and Archives (MLA).
  • Lisa Petrides to talk about Open Eductional Resources (OER). Or if you want a Nordic angle, somone from NDLA (Norwegian Digital Learning Arena) to talk about OER.
  • Prodromos Tsiavos, (legal head of Greece CC jurisdiction, currently with the University of Oslo) may be willing to organize a panel on CC and public broadcasting with Paul Gerhard (from BBC Creative Archive) and possibly some of the Dutch or the German counterparts. Prodromos know these people and their work and should be able to set up a good panel.
