Hi Free Culture NYC allies,

I would like to invite you all, and also your students, to join in a cinematic and experience-building Wikipedia education/culture event this Saturday in NYC's Lincoln Center area.

Join the community effort on Saturday December 1 to improve Wikipedia articles on film and the performing arts at New York Public Library for the Performing Arts! (located at 40 Lincoln Center Plaza)

Stay for the afternoon or drop in at any time between 12pm and 5 PM. NYPL staff will be on hand to provide information and instruction on using the collections. Volunteer Wikipedians will be present to provide support and instruction on editing Wikipedia. (Bring a laptop if you have one.)

    • Note**: We are encouraging a very broad scope for the development of

Wikpiedia subtopics that can intersect between your interests and the history of cinema/performing arts. For example, there will be someone there working on HIV/AIDS in film, and we invite and will provide assistance with whatever subtopics along these lines that you would like to get working on.
