"Creative Commons recommends adopting XMP across video formats, with the possible exception of OGG (see audio above)." - Although, I think this is a lofty goal, I would think that this would limit adoption as the cost (bill of materials) on consumer electronics devices is a main driver in that market and any cost saving that could be done is done. Parsing out XMP I would suggest exploring the default binary options available for metadata, such as the MP4 container format. There is already the cprt box via ISO, but it might be worth expanding on that. Specifically for this format XMP states to store it in a top-level UUID box and reconcile the native cprt into the dc:rights LangAlt array.
