MyGardenPlans.com is a gardening community where people share garden plans. Users share garden plans by uploading pictures of their landscapes. Each plan can also include a plant list so that visitors know what's growing, making it easier to recreate their own gardens.

Plant Database

The Plant Database

The website also includes a wiki-style plant database. Users can edit information specific to each plant, such as:

  • scientific name
  • common names
  • plant type, for example perennial, annual, or shrub
  • minimum and maximum exposure
  • minimum and maximum USDA hardiness zone
  • minimum and maximum water use
  • growth rate
  • height
  • width

Using this information, visitors can search for plants well suited for their climate.
