Microformats take using semantics inherent in XHTML and add a process for agreeing on semantic XHTML syntax (i.e., XHTML elements and CSS class names) conventions, such that specific data formats can be published by different websites in a compatible fashion, e.g., event information (hCal) and contact information (hCard).

RelLicense is a simple means to indicate that a page is licensed. (Or when used within another microformat, that microformat is licensed.)
