The Free Music Charts is a monthly charts show at Darkerradio.com. It features the 15 highest ranked songs from the month before and 5 new songs. The listeners can vote directly on the website of the radio. Each one has up to five votes.
They were started in 2007 by Falk Merten, who presented a free song on his blog every day. Based upon the monthly votings the two highest ranked songs made it into the charts of 2007, which are the base for the charts system we use today.
The FMC are also integrated into Amarok 2 using a service script.
