New page

There might be a better or proper term for license genealogy but I don't know what it is. What I am referring to is tracking the attributions and rights reserved/allowed under various CC or other "some rights reserved" licenses.

Let's keep it simple to start. What is the correct way to attribute the third iteration of an BY-SA 3.0 license? Do I list all sources in their manner of request? If so, that makes sense. Are there any existing tools that make this easier?

What happens as this number grows? What do I do as the types and versions of licenses begin to change? What is the proper way to blend a CC license with a Public Domain license for example?

I have many questions but I won't go on because these issues might very well be covered elsewhere.

Cheers,
