== Overview ==

Nowdays Tribuna is a monthly free of charge magazine created by students and those who encourage critical reflection on society and student life. Tribuna magazine was firstly founded by the League of Socialist Youth of Yugoslavia in 1951, later and until today the publisher remained the Student Organisation of the University of Ljubljana (ŠOU Ljubljana). Banned and censored throughout its turbulent history, the magazine revitalised the provocative charm of the legendary years and in the recent years enhanced on-line open access publishing.

The magazine is published in the tribunal typeface, the in-house typeface developed by former creative editor Aljaž Vindiš who won the Brumen Grand Prix at the Biennal of Slovene Visual Communications in 2011.
Tribuna magazine covers and publishes:
- reflections on political life in Slovenia and Western and non-Western global politics
- global and local student life
- revolutionary and community-based practices
- culture and cultural policies
- marxist and feminist theory, GLBTIQ issues
- literature and poetry

== License Usage ==

Tribuna adopted CC licences (BY-NC-SA) in February’s edition in 2009. The magazine with the circulation between 7,500 – 10,000 print copies is since 2009 available as a PDF without copyrights at their website.

== Motivations ==

Tribuna supports self-initiative of the students and public engagmenet in the media.
The empowerment of action in the media and everyday life is encouraged also with the uses of CC licences. Its use enables the authors and the public to understand copyright and share contents solidarily.

The e-version of each monthly edition is accesable with QR code, each edition is also accessable at the website of Digital Library of Slovenia (DLib.si).
