Traduzir

* acima nesta página
-->

No caso do português europeu, no entanto, o MediaWiki usa o código pt.

Prefixo do Espaço Nominal

* Traduza o texto ("license_name") para a sua língua
* Remova o texto
* Inverta a ordem dos caracteres se está a traduzir para uma língua escrita da direita para a esquerda (isto é, não faça isto "{license_name)$"
* Se o texto usa %(), não remova o carácter seguinte ao parêntese de fecho (isto é, o 's' em "%(license_name)s")

Links Para a Wiki

Translations for Creative Commons software and web applications are stored in gettext message catalogs. Creative Commons uses Pootle to provide a web-based translation interface. Using Pootle is the preferred method for translating ccPublisher. Instructions for using Pootle can be found here. This page describes how to create translations using other tools for manipulating the message catalogs.

Getting Started
To begin translating a Creative Commons application, you will need the PO Template (.pot) file(s). These are typically stored in Subversion in a <code>template</code> locale directory. If you have questions about where to find the templates for a specific project, email the cc-devel mailing list.

Translating using poEdit
poEdit is an Open Source cross-platform gettext catalogs (.po files) editor. It is built with wxWidgets toolkit and can run on any platform supported by it. It aims to provide more convenient approach to editing catalogs than launching Notepad (or vi) and editing the file by hand. Official releases are available from the poEdit web site for Windows and Linux. A version for Mac OS X is available at http://www.poedit.net/download.php#osx. The poEdit team reports it is a beta release and the 1.3.6 version is known to be broken, but some translators have had success using it for ccPublisher.

Just use poEdit's File -> New catalog from POT file... function will easily doing so. It even can compile .po into .mo file in the same time you pressing Save.

Submitting a Translation
Once you have completed or updated a translation and tested it, you can submit it by emailing the cc-devel mailing list.

Updating Translations
Strings are sometimes added or removed from the application during development cycles. At those times it is necessary to update the translation (.po) files with the new strings and translations.

Using poEdit
If you are using poEdit, you can use the Update from POT file... option. Go to the Catalog menu and select Update from POT file.... Select the .pot file which cooresponds to the translation you have open (i.e. if you are updating ccpublisher.po, select ccpublisher.pot).

poEdit will display the new strings it will add, as well as the obsolete strings it will remove.

Using GNU gettext tools
The GNU gettext tools include a command-line tool called <code>msgmerge</code> which may be used to merge two catalogs together. For example, to use msgmerge for ccpublisher.po, you can use the following commands (Linux):

$ cd resources/locale/en_US
$ msgmerge ccpublisher.po ../ccpublisher.pot > new_ccpublisher.po

This will create a new file (<code>new_ccpublisher.po</code>) containing the merged translations. After examining it, rename it to the original file name (<code>ccpublisher.po</code>).

General Notes About Translating
How to handle ${} or %() in strings
When you see "${license_name}" or "%(license_name)s" in a string, that indicates a substitution (for the real license name). These are placeholders that the translation machinery uses; if you modify this placeholder, the real license name will never be substituted into your string.

As a result, DO NOT:

* Translate the text ("license_name") into your own language
* Remove the text
* Reverse the order of characters because you have a right-to-left language (ie, "{license_name}$")
* If the text uses the %(), do not remove the trailing character after the close of the parenthesis (i.e. the 's' in "%(license_name)s")
* video bayi lucu

HTML links in strings (i.e., <a href="[someurl]">[sometext]</a>)
When you encounter an HTML link in a string, you must not translate anything inside of the angle brackets. In the example above, you would only translate [sometext], and the rest must be carried into the translation without any changes.

Whitespace Characters
Sometimes you'll see <code>\t</code> or <code>\n</code> in strings. These are left-over from the source files and can be safely omitted.

Wiki Links
Some text contains links to the CC Wiki for more information (ie, issues surrounding fair use, public domain, etc). If you would like to translate those pages in the CC Wiki, you may do so and substitute the link to the translated page in the translation. See CC Wiki:Translate for instructions on translating wiki pages Video Yutube.

CC is embarking on a versioning process for its core license suite, which we expect will result in version 4.0. The first public discussions of 4.0 were held at CC's Global Summit 2011. The public process was kicked off with a blog post laying out some of the key reasons for pursuing 4.0 at this time.

Since CC's launch in 2002, it has versioned its core license suite three times, the last (3.0) in early 2007. CC licenses constitute a globally-recognized framework, developed in consultation with legal experts and CC affiliate institutions in over 70 jurisdictions. Over 500 million CC-licensed works have been published by their authors on the Internet. Today, Creative Commons licenses, public domain tools, and supporting technologies are the global standard for sharing across culture, education, government, science, and more.

Version 4.0 is a tremendous opportunity to ensure the license suite is ideally crafted to further CC's vision and mission over the next decades. Please participate in this important discussion.

Goals and objectives
Creative Commons staff, board and community have to date identified several goals for the next version of its core license suite tied to achieving CC's goal and mission. These include:

:: Internationalization – further adapt the core suite of international licenses to operate globally, ensuring they are robust, enforceable and easily adopted worldwide;

:: Interoperability – maximize interoperability between CC licenses and other licenses to reduce friction within the commons, promote standards and stem license proliferation;

:: Long-lasting — anticipate new and changing adoption opportunities and legal challenges, allowing the new suite of licenses to endure for the foreseeable future;

:: Data/PSI/Science/Education — recognize and address impediments to adoption of CC by governments as well as other important, publicly-minded institutions in these and other critical arenas; and

:: Supporting Existing Adoption Models and Frameworks – remain mindful of and accommodate the needs of our existing community of adopters leveraging pre-4.0 licenses, including governments but also other important constituencies.

Organization and purpose of this wiki
This wiki is the central location for documenting key discussion topics and suggestions for improving the license suite in version 4.0, together with supporting information and relevant links. It is intended to supplement, not replace, the CC license discuss email list (subscribe) that will serve as the main discussion forum for the versioning process just as it has with prior versioning efforts.

CC has pre-populated the wiki with key topics identified to date. We ask contributors to be thoughtful about placement of additional and related topics, and the creation of new pages altogether. Before starting a new page, consider posting the suggestion to the Sandbox. We would also prefer (but do not require) that contributors use their real names when editing the wiki.

Process
As a license steward and steward of the commons, our goal for the process is to ensure utmost transparency and inclusiveness. The 4.0 process will be conducted in line with our prior versioning efforts, with periodic publication of license drafts for public comment and documentation of issue resolution as that occurs. One important difference from our past efforts, however, is a formal requirements gathering period that will run for a period of time prior to publication of the first draft. During this period, we strongly encourage the broadest participation possible by everyone with an interest in the commons and the role open licensing plays in its future. berita terbaru

The primary discussion forum for issues relating to the 4.0 versioning process will be the CC license discuss email list. Please subscribe and add your voice to this important effort.

Draft timeline
The dates noted below are approximate and subject to change. The number of drafts and public comment periods may vary depending on the number and type of issues raised and how they are resolved, among other things. Watch this page for updates, including major events such as affiliate regional meetings where 4.0 discussions will take place.

Items for discussion
Various aspects of the license suite potentially could be improved in the version 4.0 licenses. We will gather and rigorously debate and analyze these items and corresponding proposals for handling them in version 4.0. We encourage the broadest possible engagement in this process. This is a particularly important goal during the requirements gathering stage when everyone is strongly encouraged (and our affiliates are expected) to provide feedback on proposed changes and suggest other changes they would like to see. Add, improve, and discuss specific items in the pages linked below. 4shared

If you do not find a suitable existing page and category for an item you would like to propose or discuss, please add it to the 4.0/Sandbox where suggestions for new pages will be aggregated.

Finally, we encourage contributors to take the time to review prior versioning efforts, including relevant discussions of important topics previously debated by the CC community and discussions related to their resolution. Being aware of and taking those into account will be important to an effective and efficient process, particularly if a request is made to revisit and potentially change direction in 4.0.

Tsanioke:

When you select a license from the Creative Commons License Chooser, you're provided with HTML to place in your page. That HTML contains metadata which allows software to understand that you've applied a license to your work.

What is metadata?
Metadata is data about data. For example: title, creator, and licensing information. When you choose a license on our website, you get back some metadata (licensing information) encoded in RDF.

What is RDF?
RDF (Resource Description Framework) is a framework for metadata. The basic structure of RDF is very simple. There are three parts:

* the subject: a thing, identified by its URL
* the predicate: the type of metadata (like title or creator), also identified by a URL
* the object: the value of this type of metadata (like "The Story of My Life" or 'a person named "John Q. Public"')

Together, these make RDF statements, which are expressed in a language called RDF/XML.

What is the Semantic Web?
The Semantic Web is the part of the Web available in RDF. The idea behind the concept of the Semantic Web is that when enough pages carry this machine-processable metadata, developers can build tools that take advantage of it.

Among other things, RDF helps different programs talk to each other, reducing the need for users to copy information by hand. Imagine a world where everything had embedded RDF: When buying a plane ticket, for example, you could drag your flight itinerary onto your calendar program to add it to your calendar. You could drag a friend's top-ten songs list onto your music player, and it could try and obtain the songs for you automatically.

RDF can also be used to create more powerful search engines. Right now the only type of question you can ask a search engine is "What pages have these words in them?" When pages include RDF metadata, you will be able to ask more advanced questions like "What's the current temperature in California?" Programs can also use this information, like an alarm clock program that also displayed the current weather or a collage-making program that only used photos with permission.

Finally, metadata can be aggregated across the whole Web. A program could download all the top-ten song lists and, with the help of a pricing guide in RDF, calculate the cost of buying the most popular albums.

Metadata holds a lot of promise, but it won't be useful until people start adding it to their pages. Creative Commons hopes to help promote metadata by making it very easy for people to add metadata to their pages.

Why we have Creative Commons Metadata
In addition to making it easy for people to find the copyright licenses best for them, Creative Commons is working to provide simple RDF descriptions of these licenses. These descriptions will put the important points of the license in a way that makes it easy for machines to process and work from. Unlike Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology, which tries to restrict use of digital works, Creative Commons is providing ways to encourage permitted sharing and reuse of works.

If you run a search engine, you might use license metadata to highlight public domain and generously-licensed works. If you write a public file sharing server, you might offer to search the user's hard drive for works that allow distribution. If you write a magazine, you might use a CC-enabled search engine to find pictures of candy bars that you can legally include. Berita Terbaru

By standardizing a way to describe this information and providing large quantities of RDF to build on, we hope to encourage new and innovative ways to develop the commons. Of course, this metadata only provides a first approximation of the license, for information use. Users are encouraged to read the full license to make sure it meets their expectations. 4shared

CC REL Describes Creative Commons Metadata
Creative Commons metadata is described by the Creative Commons Rights Expression Language (CC REL). You can also find information on specific filetypes for embedding and reading metadata.
We provide RDF metadata for each our our licenses and other legal tools. Many developers will find it easiest to access this metadata via a programming language-specifc API. Our new implementation of <code>cc.license</code> is an example of a full API driven by the RDF metadata (source).

Emerging Journalism Models & Creative Commons
Old models of news delivery are changing, being complemented, and even supplanted by entirely new models. Many of these new models leverage Creative Commons licenses, a simple, standardized way for authors to grant copyright permissions to their work in the digital age. Because the rights to copy, distribute, or adapt content are pre-cleared, news is more rapidly and widely disseminated, allowing innovative business models to emerge that rely on free and legal sharing and reuse.

Two examples of non-profit journalism ventures funded by foundations and/or other sponsors are Propublica and the Huffington Post Investigative Fund.

Propublica
Led by Paul Steiger, the former managing editor of the Wall Street Journal, Propublica is an independent 32-person newsroom producing investigative journalism. Propublica encourages others to "steal"[1] its stories; it encourages other sites to reproduce their stories as long as they are credited and linked to under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works license (CC BY-NC-ND). Propublica also gives certain stories first to major news outlets, such as the New York Times and CNN, in order to maximize their impact. After a window of exclusivity, which can be anywhere from seconds to hours after the original publication depending on the agreement, these stories are also published on the Propublica site under CC BY-NC-ND.

Huffington Post Investigative Fund
The Huffington Post Investigative Fund is a professional newsroom that produces watchdog journalism and is staffed by reporters and editors from a variety of news organizations, such as the Washington Post, Business Week, NPR, the Wall Street Journal, and more. It's a destination site with all news published under a Creative Commons Attribution-No Derivative Works license (CC BY-ND).

An example of an advertising-supported citizen journalism platform that shares revenue with reporters is Groundreport.

Groundreport
Groundreport covers global news. It has over 5,000 contributors, citizen journalists from all around the world with various levels of experience, who submit articles, photos, and videos of news events, which are vetted by a staff of editors. Groundreport publishes stories on its site and through syndication partners such as Google News, the Huffington Post, and YouTube; and shares 50% of its advertising revenue with its contributors, based on unique traffic to posts. Reporters retain rights to their work and can choose which Creative Commons license to publish under.

An example of community-funded reporting is Spot.us.

Spot.us
Spot.us covers local news, and is currently focused on the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles. Any member of the public can commission and fund journalists to report a story. Contributions are tax deductible and about 10% usually goes to Spot.us, while the remaining 90% goes to the reporter. If a news organization buys exclusive rights to the story, donations are reimbursed and the news organization gains first publishing rights; it is up to the organization whether they wish to publish the story under default copyright or a Creative Commons license. Otherwise, all content is made available through a Creative Commons Attribution Only license (CC BY), enabling any news organization to republish the story.

For instance, a Spot.us story, "Afloat in the Ocean, Expanding Islands of Trash" by Lindsey Hoshaw, was featured in the Science section of the New York Times on November 9, 2009. Freelancer, Lindsey Hoshaw used Spot.us to raise $6,000 from 116 donors to pay for reporting about pollution patches in the Pacific Ocean. The New York Times bought the story and Hoshaw's photos. Spot.us and Hoshaw kept the fees and funders were paid back. In this case, the story is available on the New York Times website under default copyright.

There are also new twists on older models. These include Al Jazeera, GOOD Magazine, and Creative Commons' Student Journalism 2.0.

Al Jazeera
Al Jazeera is the first major news source to use Creative Commons. Al Jazeera built a Creative Commons video repository consisting of broadcast-quality video of the war in Gaza and made it available to anyone for use under a Creative Commons Attribution license (CC BY). Because Al Jazeera had access to the region amidst scarcity of news footage available, the CC BY license enabled other news organizations report on the footage while crediting Al Jazeera—increasing both coverage of the war and Al Jazeera as the original news source. The International Herald Tribune states, “In a conflict where the Western news media have been largely prevented from reporting from Gaza because of restrictions imposed by the Israeli military, Al Jazeera has had a distinct advantage. It was already there.”

GOOD Magazine
GOOD Magazine is a print and web magazine focused on social issues and social entrepreneurship. Its basic business model is built on advertising. They also accept subscriptions with all subscription fees going to partner charities, incentivizing consumers to subscribe and partner charities to reach out to their communities—which ultimately produces more readers. After a six-month exclusivity window, all content is published on their site under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial license (CC BY-NC).
