Why do you identify yourself as being part of the listed region(s)? CC France members participate to CC Europe meetings.

Vision
* Why is Creative Commons important for the jurisdiction? Because France recently enacted two controversial law with regard to author's rights. There is also a stronger need to counter the growing powers of the SACEM.

* What do you think makes a successful jurisdiction project? To participate to the current debate against the growing powers assigned to the SACEM. For instance, to help reach an agreement with the SACEM.

* How do you see the jurisdiction project contributing to the CC Affiliate Network? Reporting on problems and reports on the experiences in France. To strengthen the relationships and to create a community with other CC jurisdictions.

Community
* Describe the communities that are currently active in the project.
Public Sector Information, Press, Music, Photography, Libraries.
** How will you continue to engage with these communities?
CC Salons, discussions and common research projects.

* Describe the communities (existing or new) that you plan to focus on during the timeframe covered by this roadmap?
Public Sector Information, Scientific communities, Education community, Wikimedia, Libraries.
** How do you plan to engage with these communities?
CC Salons, meetings, discussions and common research projects. Communication through the CC-FR website.

Priority Goals
1. Focus-area: Develop the core team by integrating new members and creating an advisory board. Raise funds.
* Why is it important? It will reinforce the project by giving more resources and ideas.
* Which communities will benefit? All communities, especially those who are not in the field of expertise of current team members
2. Focus-area: Education. Scientific publications and data. Public sector information.
* Why is it important? Science and education will advance quicker if resources are available under clear and open conditions. It is also important to re-establish and develop new links with institutions in France which has a long tradition of public sector and where CC can make an impact. In general, it is important to develop access to and dissemination of knowledge.
* Which communities will benefit? Researchers and educators in France, Europe and other countries. National and local governments and cultural institutions that will be approached for the benefit of the entire society.
3. Focus-area: Music Collecting Societies
* Why is it important? In order for artists to be able to benefit from the system of collecting societies, as well as the visibility they can derive from CC licenses. Also in order to remove misunderstandings.
* Which communities will benefit? Music community, industry and institutions in France, and eventually in other countries if we manage to reach an agreement case which could have spill-over effects.

The outputs we plan to complete are as follows:

1. Focus-area
* How will this output help achieve your goals?
To make CC licenses compatible with collecting societies

Metrics
* How will you measure and evaluate your impact on focus-area 1?
**Number of new team members
**Representativity of advisory board members
* How will you measure and evaluate your impact on focus-area 2/3?
**Number of projects released under CC in the scientific/educational context (althought we do not consider this a goal per se).
**Awareness of CC licences in the scientific/educational context.
**Overall satisfaction of people who released their works under a CC licence.
* How will you measure and evaluate your impact on focus-area 4?
**the overall satisfaction of artists, in terms of financial returns.

Resources Required
People
* What human resources or expertise must the team seek out or add to your existing resources, if any, in order to achieve your priority goals? The team is complete : team members raised from 2 to 6. We need to create a board.
** How will you involve these people? Every one is a volunteer, taking upon their work and leisure time to work for CC-FR.

Technology
* What technology resources must the team seek out or add to your existing resources, if any, in order to achieve your priority goals? Video-cameras, laptops, and other goodies.
** How will you obtain these technology resources?
maybe after asking Santa Claus.

Other
* What other resources must the team seek out or add to all the other resources, if any, in order to achieve your priority goals? The possibility to find spaces to organize our CC salons.
Fundings for hotel / travel expenses for inviting people.
** How will you obtain these other resources? (that is the question)
Sponsorship maybe? And write grant applications.

Sustainability and Scalability
* How will you ensure your goals will be completed if unforeseen circumstances interrupt the project, such as changes in the leadership of the project or outputs taking longer to complete than anticipated? Improve team communication, share password and important information with each other.

* How will you communicate the project's on-going progress and setbacks within the jurisdiction and the CC Affiliate Network? (e.g. email list updates, meetings, press releases). website, mailing list and blogs.

* How will you document the project so that others may replicate or learn from your efforts? Raise money to collectively write a best-practices guide & case studies with the other CC teams.

Collaboration
** How could the jurisdiction's plans help drive or support other jurisdictions' activities? Case studies
** What are other jurisdictions doing that might support or contribute to the project? Case studies and best practices
* Would you be interested in mentoring new jurisdiction teams? Yes

* Conversely, would you be interested in having a mentor from a more experienced jurisdiction team? Yes

Regional
CC Europe
Communia follow-up
CC Collecting Societies Working Group

** How do you plan to contribute to these projects?

Translation
* In what language(s) will you promote CC in the jurisdiction and why? French is the official language of France
** In which of these languages are licenses already available? CC0? In France, in progress
Getting to and from the airport
You can check the information available in WikiVoyage.

We have put together a google document for those people wanting to share rides to and from the airport. There are separate sheets for arrivals and departures. It is your responsibility to arrange a meet up time and place. Please only add your details here if you are willing to be contacted directly by others on the list.

By bus - recommended
We strongly recommend you to hire the service of Manuel Tienda León. If you arrive to Ezeiza international airport, you can take the service from there that will leave you in Madero Av. and San Martín, where you will find Plaza San Martín. They also run a service from Jorge Newbery. This is the distance between the place you are going to be left from Manuel Tienda León Service and the hotel:

From there, you have different options to the hotel.

By subway
Take the subway, line C, in Retiro station (terminal station), until Diagonal Norte station, where you have two different lines to make combination: line B and line D. There you'll have to take line B (Carlos Pellegrini station) in direction to Los Incas, until Uruguay or Callao (they are at the same distance from the hotel). You can also walk from Diagonal Norte to the hotel, it's a nice walk through Corrientes Av. and Callao Av.

By taxi
You can take a cab on the intersection of Madero Av. and San Martín, and it should cost you around 30-40 argentinean pesos. In Argentina the tariff is fixed by an automatic system that you can see in front of the passenger's seat.

Bus and subway tickets
Public transport in Buenos Aires does have a transit card named SUBE - but in order to get it you may need to have a worker ID provided by the government. you can find a map of places to purchase SUBE here.

So the best way to purchase tickets is to simply pay cash. You can pay on the bus with coins. The cheapest ticket is 1.50 and it goes up to 2.25 pesos depending on the distance you travel.

If you prefer the subway, you can buy passes separately, each 2.50; you can also buy 5 passes or 10 in the same ticket.

1. Focus-area
* Team Member(s) Responsible: Danièle, Melanie and Lara

**a SACEM agreement

Yes

Regional
* Suggest three possible projects on which you can collaborate with other teams on a regional level. If you are not yet involved with the regional network, please contact the regional spokesperson (if any) or notify CC HQ to put you in touch with others.
CC Europe
Communia follow-up
CC Collecting Societies Working Group

** How do you plan to contribute to these projects?

Translation
* In what language(s) will you promote CC in the jurisdiction and why? French is the official language of France
** In which of these languages are licenses already available? CC0? In France, in progress
** Into which of the remaining languages do you intend to translate the licenses? CC0? French

Misc.

Project Outputs
The outputs we plan to complete are as follows:

1. Focus-area
* Team Member(s) Responsible: Danièle, Melanie and Lara

**a SACEM agreement

Yes

Translation
* In what language(s) will you promote CC in the jurisdiction and why? French is the official language of France
** In which of these languages are licenses already available? CC0? In France, in progress
|process=Due to the urgent need to have a CC0 version in French while the Open Data movement required the use of texts in French for both public and Glam institutions, ODBL had a French version and the French Government was publishing a national Open License, the community (Framasoft) published a non-official draft translation of CC0 on 15 October 2010:
http://www.framablog.org/index.php/post/2010/10/15/proposition-traduction-licence-creative-commons-zero-1.0-cc0

CC France legal team members (Danièle, Melanie and Primavera) revised, edited and submitted a first draft to CC HQ legal team on 4 May 2011. The draft was later published:
http://wiki.creativecommons.org/Publicdomain/zero/1.0/LegalText_%28French%29

The public comment process and request for involvement of other affiliate teams from jurisdictions with the same official or primary language has been submitted in November 2012 to the request by CC HQ for comments on the CC0 Official Translations policy.
We would like to have a public consultation of 30 days as recommended by the policy, augmented to 45 days if needed.
Discussion will take place on CC-France mailing list, on the Discussion page of the CC HQ wiki page hosting the translation first draft, and if needed on the mailing-lists of the other jurisdictions.
We intend to reach out to the other relevant jurisdictions after an introduction by CC HQ. Each affiliate team will be responsible to inform the local communities through mailing-lists and social networks of the public comment period and if they choose to host a discussion on their mailing-list, to moderate it and post comments on the CC-France mailing list or on the Discussion page of the CC HQ wiki page hosting the translation first draft. An emphasis should be put on the fact that the translation is linguistic and not legal.

At the end of the public comment period, CC France team will implement relevant changes to improve the first draft.
Vision
* What do you think makes a successful jurisdiction project? To participate to the current debate against the growing powers assigned to the SACEM. For instance, to help reach an agreement with the SACEM.

* How do you see the jurisdiction project contributing to the CC Affiliate Network? Reporting on problems and reports on the experiences in France. To strengthen the relationships and to create a community with other CC jurisdictions.
