Grants/2lifeCast +Evaluation "IS" the project, as we wish to create "measurable syndication" to authors who will join us. The tools and the methodology we will build will be the project result.
Grants/A journey on foot--Chekhov in sounds project +We expect measure our project impact in 3 ways : 1. User sessions / Files downloading times. 2. Media exposure 3. visitor’s feedback
Grants/Access to Knowledge and Alternatives to Copyright in El Salvador +After the project’s divulgation phase, we will sustain bilateral meetings with the institutions that participated, in order to measure their degree of interest and receptivity. This will be able to be done through a systematization of the interviews and communications made. Concerning to public officials, we want them to recognize the importance of favoring the balance between copyright and access to knowledge, and the fostering of alternatives to share creative and technological contents. In the other hand, with regard to civil society actors, we aim to contribute to the conformation of a community of entities linked to education, culture and technology around access to knowledge and sharing practices through the use of copyright alternatives . This will be evident in the number of institutions compromised with the elaboration of the project profile addressed to fund the porting process of CC Licenses.
Grants/Adopting Highly-Reconfigurable, Networked Cameras for Live-Streamed Meetings +The primary focus will be to achieve proof-of-principle that open-hardware cameras and associated equipment are sufficiently evolved to be placed into production usage for both recording and live-streaming. This will be demonstrated if an Elphel ''network'' camera replaces prosumer-grade cameras currently in use by Open Video Productions. A secondary metric will be to measure how many pre-configured kits are sold through Open Video Productions, and to track usage via follow-up surveys and responses to blog entries.
Grants/Applying Creative Commons to rural development in China. +- Exchange of best practices: how many proposals from each village are approved by the other; - Personal visits to the communities: qualitative feedback from villagers. - Identification of potentia for improved and/or diversified income in Qingbiankou through new permaculture initiatives. - Improved environment in Gangfang: steps to a cleaner river, and a reduction in the number of garbage dumps. - Exchange between the schools and the increased awareness amongst children on the lifestyle and knowledge of their grandparents. - Bridging the gap between the generations (grandparents and grandchildren)through a common project that is based on knowledge sharing. - Publication of academic papers.
Grants/Approach for a Working Emerging Field Through Scratch for Secondary Students +The impact of the project, “Approach for a Working Emerging Field Through Scratch for Secondary Students” will is measured through a questionnaire to examine both teacher performance and matter learned. The subject is taught previously checked against plans and programs of the Chilean Ministry of Education, and on that basis and the information obtained from other web sites will be developed an introductory manual to the Scratch programming platform. The main purpose of this evaluation is to ensure the constant improvement of the quality of education and excellence in teacher education. Another impact will be that we will have computers for doing other workshops using free software in the future. In sustitution of propetary software. Its very important to dimension both sides of the digital culture producitvity, one centralize by propetary softwares and descentralize in the sense of FLOSS (free/libre and open source software).
Grants/Arabic Open Educational Resources (OER) Platform +Impact will be measured by the number of benefiters, students and instructors, number of institutions involved, number of content contributors and size, originality and diversity of contributed content. Number of registered users in the platform, average frequency of use and geographical coverage will be taken into consideration.
Grants/Assessing the effect of license choice on the use of lexical resources +We will measure our impact on the WordNet community by seeing if we can persuade any existing projects to use a more open license, and any new projects to start with an open license. We will measure our impact on the wider community by seeing how much usage the open WordNet server gets.
Grants/AudioImager +SOFTWARE The software is developed to work as a client software. The projects impact should be easy to measure as the amount of downloads and installations of the software and the amount of files that are created with the software. RESEARCH The research part will be evaluated by the open video research community in the open video where the research paper will be presented. http://www.openvideoconference.org/
Grants/Avbi personal : budget tax advisor web tool for Guatemala +monitoring tools on the web application , polls , surveys, blogs, social media, newsletter, website
Grants/BatasPinoy Project +WE will measure the project's impact through an online feedback and testimonial mechanism that will be integrated with all the legal materials that will be be uploaded in the AidLaw website.
Grants/Beirut Metblogs +We plan to work closely with the contributors to the site and get as much feedback from them as possible. Additionally we'll be monitoring the other local media to see how they react and if they begin to use our site as a trusted source. Via the comments we'll be able to gauge if the readers feel empowered and if they like what we're doing. We also plan to do quarterly surveys to stay on top of the needs of the community and make sure we're putting attention where it's needed most. One benefit we think we have to offer is that since the site will be hosted outside of Lebanon we can provide a stable backbone that might not have been possible for 100% Beirut based sites in the past. Most importantly this puts the sites owners and servers out of the reach and influence of local pressures.
Grants/Best Practices for Startups: Leveraging CC to Optimize Resources +The project's impact will be measured in several ways: a) The research and development phase will be measured according to the quality of the learning material produced, which will be evaluated along with the workshops by a survey to participants. b) The impact of the Coaching Coaches seminar will be measured by the number of entrepreneurs these coaches share the information with (they will have to hand in a database of participants of their own workshop), and c) The impact of the Entrepreneurs' seminar will be measured by the number of participants that implement CC licensing on their websites and other products within the following month. The mid- and long- term impact will be measured by following up on these aforementioned metrics, as well as a follow-up on the case study written.
Grants/BiDi en Iberoamèrica +Via statistical data, direct contact and social media data. We will gather and process information in order to estimate the impact on the different contributors and participants
Grants/CC Asia Pacific Conference 2010 +We plan to conduct a brief survey to measure participants' satisfaction and get feedback on what needs to be improved in the future once the event ends.
Grants/CC Commentary +The impact could best be measured by website traffic and citations of the commentary, both online and offline. The commentary would be equipped with a deep linkable versioning system, allowing to continuously access any state of it for permanent linking to it on websites, in apps, in verdicts and also in paper publications in general. Another way to measure impact could be to assess the group curating the commentary. As there will have to be a merit-based membership policiy regarding this group, the number and quality of applications to join could tell a lot about the overall success of the initiative.
Grants/CC Full-dome +The immediate impact of this project will be measured by the number of people retained by the Artists' House as volunteers after this first phase is completed. Naturally, it can also be measured by the quantity (and technical quality) of full-dome media-projects produced in Weimar over the course of the next few years. In the short term we hope to see a increasing interest in full-dome at the art/ movie-maker scene of Weimar, over the long term in whole thuringia and bordering states of Germany, because Weimar is a really central place. Because of the relatively small size of the current full-dome scene, we also expect to be a driving partner in international collaborations on the EU and international level, to the extent where we can eventually help offset the funding costs associated with the production of such films with the support of EU Media and EU Culture programs. Of course it will also be interesting to see to what extent our work enables others to undertake similar projects, and participate in the cross-pollination that arises out of sharing ideas and resources.
Grants/CC Latin Policy +The project impact can be measured quantitatively by the number and sector representation of public actors who will describe their experience, and qualitatively by the relevance of best practices, worst practices and recommendations which will be proposed, based on the cultural context identified by empirical findings and desk research.
Grants/CC Policy Makers and Industry Leaders Arab World Forum +I have been involved with CC activities in the region from the beginning and only in the last few years I have realised that more people are interested to learn about CC from the Arab region. Although most of these people are quite young and ‘Internet geeks’, I believe there is not much interest coming from the business, academia and the government sectors. This will be a great opportunity to introduce people from these sectors to CC and its importance to the Arab region. The successful measurement of the project will depend largely on what extent the speakers of the forum will take the ideas that they have gained during the forum and adopt them in their work. It is hoped that this forum will convince academics, government officials and business people to publish their work online more often under open content models such as CC. The success of the project will be an increase in the amount of Arabic materials available online and, specially, an increase in CC– licensed Arabic materials.
Grants/CC Uploader for Drupal +The primary measure of success will be the volume of content and number of implementations. The ideal outcome would be new videos being shared that remix older video from archives unlocked and distributed with a ShareAlike license because of this project.
Grants/CDLD Editions +We will evaluate it through the numbers: web traffic statistics. We have already uploaded the first publication (to get the ball rolling) and we have already started to see the results. Mainly we want to help out artists, creators and cultural promoters, through these publications, so the results would show from their feedback and how many collaborators we get once we´re up and running.
Grants/CDLD.ORG / Virtual Documentation Center of the Arts +We will measure it in several ways starting out with web traffic statistics and by the number of users that register themselves in the database. Besides that, the web page´s interface lets any user (registered or not) comment, vote and rate the artworks and files that are uploaded. Due to the fact that the page will generate personal URLs for each user, artists can use the page as a showcase for their work, so we would also expect it to be seen linked to other pages since the users can add them to their contact URLs, personal web pages, business cards, etc.
Grants/Cacao, Commons’ Central American Observatory +The method to measure the results are going to be the visit statistics, comments, and alternative contents generated. On the larger communities (each country) the growth of users of CC licenses and its diffusion during the project will give parameters of the impact of the project.
Grants/Catalyst Languages +1) Quantitatively: Number of resources collated and generated/remixed. Number of downloads of resources. Number of attendees at courses. Number of contributions to the repository from extra-mural sources. 2) Qualitatively: Are resources being used in lessons - how? Do teachers and learners find them useful? In what way and why? These things can be measured by using questionnaires with participating teachers. UK teachers increasingly find ourselves within a target-driven and highly evaluated culture; as a Specialist School we have years of experience in both self- and external-evaluation.
Grants/Central and Eastern European Free Culture Policy Workshop +The project will be evaluated directly with workshop participants. The impact of the project will afterwards be measured by observing the reaction to workshop's output documents.
