It’s not clear what will become of data management plans with respect to revision, compliance, enforcement, and future iterations of the requirement. We are organizing a workshop to freely discuss ideas about how to ensure data management plans are relevant and useful. Potential questions for discussion:

  • What do funders hope will emerge from DMP requirements?
  • What do libraries, repositories, and other stakeholders want from DMP requirements?
  • Are there plans in place for DMP compliance?
  • How can stakeholders work together to ensure DMP compliance?
  • What are the kinds of things funders need from DMPs to support the requirement?
  • What will reporting look like for data management planning?

UC Curation Center (California Digital Library) and Creative Commons, and sponsored by DataONE in collaboration with the National Academy of Sciences Board on Research Data and Information. The UC3 group at CDL sponsors the Data Management Planning Tool (DMPTool).
