Describe the project you are proposing as clearly as possible in just five sentences.

One Retweet is a global collective collaborating on creating content for Peace. It is a project that only uses Creative Commons licensed resources, because Peace is Priceless. One Retweet promotes Creative Commons to facilitate the process of ideas mixing and mingling into real strategies to bring Peace to the world. Peace is an idea that belongs to no single person but to everyone and future generations. Every individual impacts the world and can change things in a tiny way, this is the message behind One Retweet.

Detail the tangible project output (e.g., paper, blog post, written materials, video/film, etc.; this would be in addition to the final written report that successful grant recipients will be expected to deliver to CC at the conclusion of the project).

This Project has a great potential to generate many CC licensed Resources. As all submitted materials to the project will be under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License. This is the key to the project as all content should be subject to the same license and therefore can freely be remixed and adapted.

Possible output; graphics, blogs, poems, essays, and video created by participants in the project.

With the data collected One Retweet would like answer the questions; can Social Media lower the cost of participation in social movements? Can one retweet change the world? If you only had to push a button to send a message, would you?

A white paper would be written with the results focusing on recommendations for similar campaigns.

Describe the community you are targeting. How would the project benefit the community?

The project targets individuals with a creative streak who have felt that they have nothing to contribute.

The benefit to the community is enabling individuals to take action at the minimal level of retweeting a video that was made for the project. At the maximum level the project creates an environment for expression in written or creative form. It support individuals to think about how to bring Peace to the world. The reach is potentially global and can benefit the global village to think about the Peace process and act.br />

What is your relationship with the community you are targeting? Why are you the best individual/organization to lead this project? Do you have prior experience in related projects?

The inspiration for the One Retweet Project came from social media projects I have worked on. Familiar with the process of running a campaign One Retweet began as an experiment to use this type of marketing to create a positive message. The website is optimized to make sharing as easy clicking a button lowering the barriers of participation. My relationship with the community is simple, I am a member of it who regularly uses services like Twitter in my daily life.

How will you measure and evaluate your project’s impact - on your main participants? Other contributors? On the larger community?

To measure impact I can rely on the same sources as all websites do. There are many traffic tracking and analytic sites out there. They give information on what people click on, what pages they visit, comments, views, daily traffic to the site, how long people stay on the site (engagement), incoming links, outbound links etc. There will be more than enough data to go into great detail about the behaviors of individuals and the impact of the site.

How many participants do you expect to be involved in your project? How will you seek and sustain their involvement?

The potential for involvement is large if the campaign picks up steam. The goal for the project is for at least 75,000 views of the original video before the end of the year. This is based on an average of 25,000 views of the website a month for the last 6 months. This is probably a low estimate but a building successful social media campaign can take at least 3-4 months to hit full swing if starting from no influence ( the currency of the internet). The hope is as many people will participate in creating content as the project can grab.

Sustaining involvement will come from creating new materials for the campaign and quality content for the blog. As well as actively networking with other campaigns and individuals with similar messages to create mutual support. Press outreach is also currently going on to bring more awareness of the Project. One Retweet seeks to become active in creating content and commenting on the works of others in the Creative Commons, Peace, and Activism Communities.

Describe how your project will benefit Creative Commons' mission to increase the amount of creativity (cultural, educational, and scientific content) in "the commons".

The creation of content to disseminate on the social web in support of Peace is the heart of the project. Since all content will be under a Creative Commons license that allows for remix and adaption. This means that contributors can see their works be used for many cool purposes by those who support the Creative Commons Message. When the project is over the collection could be archived and curated, as well as made searchable so others can easily find and build upon the content.

Describe what technologies and tools your project will use. What kinds of technical skills and expertise do you bring to the project? What are your technical needs?

The current need for the project is simple, One Macbook Pro with the programs iMovie, Garageband, and iPhoto. All of these programs come pre-installed on every Macbook. This is required to create better content that is smoother and more professional looking. The current programs on my PC are not proficient enough to create top quality content. The testament to personal skill is that materials for the website were made from freeware and pre-installed programs. The video was made in movie maker, audio created in Audacity, and MS paint to create the banner and other graphics the campaign currently uses. Imagine how much better the content could be with professional products with more capablity.

What challenges do you expect to face, and how do you plan to overcome them?

The greatest challenges are participation and having people find the website. Fortunately there is a proficiency in using Twitter and Blogging to drive traffic behind the project, so an early buzz is starting. A volunteer on the project is helping with creating a Press Kit and stake holders have already begun to be contacted. By reaching out to bloggers, journalists, and peace activists the project hopes to garner attention and participation. The other obstacle is generating content that people want to share. That is why One Retweet is reaching out to Creative Commons for the grant to get a laptop that can be used to create that content.

How do you plan to sustain your project after the Creative Commons funding has ended? Detail specific plans. How do you plan to raise revenue to continue your efforts in the future?

One Retweet uses the bare minimum resources. All content can be created by resources found for free on the internet. All Social Networks used are free. The only cost incurred for the project is the host and domain name for the year. One Retweet will reevaluate it's needs after 6 months. If a community and network has been built One Retweet will apply for grants and/or donations to support the cost of the domain and host for the next year (only about $150 USD). Through it's commitment to Creative Commons One Retweet is highly sustainable.

How can this project be scalable, or have a scalable impact?

One Retweet would like to develop sister sites that could act as hubs for content for their respective communities and/or countries. In this sense One Retweet would eventually become an archive and portal to sustain a global peace community. Lending an authority to these sister campaigns as well as resources, advice and lessons from experience.

What resources and support do you expect Creative Commons to provide to your project to ensure its success (if any)?

One Retweet would like Creative Commons to help promote the project. For example talking about it in a press release, in connection to the ignite grant if One Retweet receives one, any support it can lend in talking up or spreading the message. One Retweet hopes that on the Creative Commons networks the organization will encourage members to act on the peace plans developed by the community.

Describe how your organization currently communicates with its community members and network partners. (100 words)

There are currently only three participants in the project that communicate through email. As the project grows an email newsletter will be added. Those interested in the project can also follow news through RSS feeds of the blog as well as Twitter and Youtube accounts.
